School Age Immunisations Programme - Derby City

Please note: we no longer provide the school age service in Nottingham. We provide the service in Derby City.

As from 1st September 2015, the CityCare Immunisation Team has delivered the School Age Immunisation Programme across Derby City.  The School Age Immunisations Programme plays an important part in promoting the health of our children and young people.

The vaccination programme for year 2016/2017 is shown below:


Year Group


Flu Vaccination

Year 1,2, and 3

Nasal Flu

Meningitis ACWY

Year 9 and 11

1 Intramuscular Injection

Human Papillomavirus (HPV)

Year 8 and 9 girls

2 intramuscular injections (one dose in each year)

School Leaver / Teenage Booster.

Tetanus, Diphtheria & Polio (Td/IPV) 

Year 9

1 Intramuscular Injection

NB: The Meningitis ACWY vaccine has replaced the routine Meningitis C vaccine for all teenagers.

Immunisation sessions will be planned jointly with schools across Derby City and you will receive a consent pack via school for the relevant vaccination.

Please note: Only children within the eligible age group attending a Derby City School will receive a consent pack from CityCare Immunisation Team. If your child has not received their vaccinations, as described in the table above and is in a higher year group, please contact the team on 01332 973050 for further advice.

The services aim to reduce the number of preventable infections and related diseases and their onward transmission and minimise adverse physical / psychological/clinical aspects of immunisation. For more information on vaccinations click here.
