Urgent Care Centre

Service description

We provide access to assessment and treatment if you need help with a health problem that is urgent, but not life-threatening.

This is a walk-in service, open between 7am and 9pm, 365 days a year, with no appointment needed. You can call 0115 883 8500 for directions or current waiting times, however the centre focuses on helping patients face-to-face and healthcare advice cannot be given out over the telephone.

For minor health problems such as coughs and colds you can obtain advice and over the counter treatments from a pharmacist. For an urgent but non-life-threatening condition head to CityCare’s NHS Urgent Care Centre. For advice on a health problem call 111 24 hours a day, for life-threatening emergencies dial 999.

Dental service

There is an NHS dental service available on-site that can provide free advice on dental problems. Consultation with the Dentist or any treatment will require you to pay a contribution as per the standard NHS dental charges. You may be exempt from these charges, for more information see http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/AboutNHSservices/dentists/Pages/nhs-dental-charges.aspx.

The dental nurse is available from 08-30 to 18.00 Monday to Friday, 08.30 to 12-30 Saturday and bank holidays. The dental service is not available on Sundays.

Parking, transport links and access

The Nottingham NHS Urgent Care Centre is at Seaton House, City Link, Nottingham NG2 4LA, next to the BBC on a business park, close to the city centre and railway station. There is free on-site parking, but this can be limited at busy times.There is disabled access and disabled car parking available. Nearby car parks include The Broadmarsh Centre (http://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/article/23462/Broadmarsh-Car-Park), Lace Market Car Park (previously known as Fletcher Gate) (http://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/lace-market) or the new Nottingham station car park operated by East Midlands Trains (http://www.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk/travelling-with-us/our-network/Parking-at-the-Station/)

Public Transport Links

Unfortunately there is no direct public transport link to the Urgent Care Centre. There are 4 nearby bus stops, all a short walk from the Urgent Care Centre, these are served by the Citylink C2 Service (Canal St (N1), Pennyfoot Street (SN49) and Lower Eldon Street (SN23 and SN14). Lower Eldon Street and Pennyfoot Street are also service by the 44 service. For more information see the Nottingham City Transport website and the City Council website.

The centre focuses on helping patients face-to-face and healthcare advice cannot be given out over the telephone. If your call is not answered immediately during busy periods, please try again later. If you have an urgent health need, phone 111 for help and advice or 999 if it is a life-threatening emergency.
