Modern Slavery Act 2015/16 Annual Statement
In accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015, Nottingham CityCare Partnership CIC makes the following statement regarding the steps it has taken in the financial year 2015/16 to ensure that Modern Slavery i.e. slavery and human trafficking, is not taking place in any part of its own organisation or any of its supply chain.
CityCare recognises that it has a responsibility to take a robust approach to slavery and human trafficking to ensure that its supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking.
About Nottingham CityCare Partnership
Nottingham CityCare Partnership CIC employs over 1400 staff and delivers a range of nursing and healthcare services shaped and developed by the needs and wishes of the communities we serve.
As a social enterprise, we are currently commissioned to deliver more than 65 nursing and healthcare services. We reinvest the profits we make back into CityCare itself and extra, new community health projects. We work in partnership with patients, staff, the private, public and voluntary sector and the local community to build a healthier, more sustainable future for all. The communities we serve lie at the heart of our organisation and we are focused on building sustainable services that generate healthier, happier futures for local people.
Action taken during 2015/16
CityCare is aware of the key issues around the Modern Slavery Act and is committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chain or in any part of our organisation.
CityCare is developing policies and procedures to reflect our commitment to acting ethically in all our business relationships and to implement effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place within our supply chain.
CityCare will work to identify and mitigate risk and put in place contractual terms which will allow us to gain assurance that slavery and human trafficking have no place in our organisation. CityCare will work with suppliers to ensure that they treat their obligations towards modern slavery with upmost importance.
All our clinical staff undertake safeguarding training on a rolling 3 year basis. In this training we include awareness of modern slavery. In this training we refer to human trafficking, forced labour, domestic servitude and slave masters. Key facts are discussed in relation to victims of slavery and the key signs of trafficking for adults, children and young people. This is also incorporated into our Corporate induction. In addition our Head of Procurement has undertaken the annual CIPS Ethical Training Course which covers the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and abides by the CIPS Professional Code of Conduct.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 March 2016.
