For National Volunteers’ Week, CityCare would like to take a moment to recognise and celebrate the incredible contribution of our volunteers across the organisation.

Since launching the CityCare volunteering service in 2023, we have grown to a fantastic team of 30 volunteers, who have collectively contributed over 1,500 volunteering hours. This is a remarkable achievement, and we are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and dedication our volunteers bring to our services.

Why Volunteers Matter

Volunteers play a vital role in supporting our teams and enhancing the experience for patients and service users. Whether they are:

  • Supporting clinics and group sessions
  • Providing a listening ear through befriending services
  • Assisting with admin and reception tasks
  • Helping create a welcoming and supportive environment

Their presence makes a real and meaningful difference every day.

Volunteers not only support service delivery but also bring compassion, fresh perspectives, and a strong sense of community. They help teams to focus on delivering high-quality care while adding value in ways that go beyond traditional roles.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all our volunteers for their ongoing commitment, kindness, and passion. Your contribution is truly valued, and the impact you have on our patients, service users, and teams does not go unnoticed.

National Volunteers’ Week is an opportunity to celebrate you — but your contribution is appreciated all year round.

Volunteers bring so much knowledge, experience, passion and commitment and they are central to all the work that we do. So a huge thank you from me.

Judith Douglas, Director of Nursing, AHP’s and Quality

We look forward to continuing to grow our volunteering service and working together to create even more opportunities for people to get involved and make a difference across CityCare.

Thank you for everything you do.
