International Nurses’ Day is celebrated every year on 12 May, marking the birthday of Florence Nightingale and recognising the vital role nurses play across the world.

Today, we want to take a moment to recognise and thank all of our nurses at CityCare. We are proud to have 458 nurses working across a wide range of services, each making a meaningful difference to the people and communities we serve in Nottingham.

This year’s theme, ‘Our Nurses. Our Future. The economic power of care’ highlights the essential contribution nursing makes not only to health and wellbeing, but to the strength and sustainability of our communities.

Every day, our nurses demonstrate compassion, professionalism and dedication in their work—supporting patients, families and colleagues alike. Their impact is felt far beyond the care they provide, helping to shape healthier futures for those who rely on our services.

Take a minute to watch our short message (below) from Director of Nursing, AHPs and Quality Judith Douglas thanking our nurses for their service and celebrating their work.

On behalf of the organisation, we want to thank our nurses for everything they do.
