Reserves Day 2026 takes place on Wednesday, 24 June, which is in the middle of Armed Forces Week.
Today we want to celebrate all of the Reservists who sacrifice their spare time and work part-time to serve in the British Reserve Forces.
Britain’s Reserve Forces contribute significantly and play a vital role towards the national security of the United Kingdom, as well as helping towards upholding peace across the world.
Last year, CityCare was awarded the Bronze Award as part of the Armed Forces Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. More information can be found here
Achieving the Bronze Award reflects our formal commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant, which we signed in July 2025. Through this, we have pledged to recognise the important contribution that members of the Armed Forces community make to our organisation and society, and to ensure they are treated fairly.
We also recognise the importance of providing support within our organisation. CityCare has an established Veterans, Reservists and Armed Forces Families Support Group, which meets quarterly and helps ensure colleagues with a connection to the Armed Forces are heard and supported. The group also works to strengthen awareness and support for patients who are veterans and their families.
Namdi Ngoka, Director of People, Communications and Inclusion at Nottingham CityCare said:
"I am pleased that CityCare continues to offer support and champion our Armed Forces community, including serving personnel, reservists, veterans and their families. We signed up to the armed force covenant last year and we have recently been recognised with a bronze award as part of the Armed Forces Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. This recognises our commitment to the Armed Forces community, including serving personnel, reservists, veterans and their families."
