Small steps big changes

4 December 2013

CityCare, together with parents, Nottingham City Council, the CCG, NUH and the voluntary sector are joining with the SSBC team to strengthen the city’s bid for the money through a series of working group meetings. Nottingham was one of 15 areas to be awarded a share of £185 million from The Big Lottery Fund in 2013 to develop long-term plans to support parents of children aged three and under in four of the Nottingham’s wards.

A Nottingham children’s learning disability football team has been given a new lease of life by LD Sport & Education, a new organisation. Founders Connor Bramhall and Jonathan Wright have been supported by a substantial £25,000 sponsorship from Community Health Provider Nottingham CityCare Partnership.

CITYCARE WINS PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL AWARD

NOTTINGHAM CityCare Partnership (CityCare) is celebrating after winning a health ‘Oscar’ for the way it is making a difference to people’s lives in Nottingham. CityCare scooped the prestigious Creating Sustainable NHS Providers title at the 2013 Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards held at the Grosvenor House hotel in London.

School Nursing Team hit 90% target for HPV Vaccine

21 October 2013

The CityCare HPV campaign offers girls aged 12 to 16 the chance to have the HPV vaccine in their own school. It is also available to those aged 17-18 who have not yet received the vaccination. CityCare’s School Nurses have hit this year’s 90% vaccination target and Phyllis Brackenbury, Assistant Director of Children, Young People & Family Services said “It is fantastic that 90% of teenage girls in the city have been protected against cervical cancer this year.

CityCare shortlisted for HSJ Awards 2013

Nottingham CityCare Partnership have been shortlisted in the Staff Engagement and Creating Sustainable NHS Providers categories of the 2013 Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards, to be held on 19 November. The shortlisted organisations, chosen from a record number of entries will now complete presentations and interviews to category specific judging panels made up of 85 senior and influential figures from the health sector.
