CityCare’s Valuing You Awards 2014

Wednesday 23 July saw the annual Summer Celebration and Valuing You awards, which was this year held at Trent Vineyard. The event included presentations from Chairman Chris Mahon and Acting Director of Operations and Transformation Phyllis Brackenbury, and entertainment provided by Pulp Friction Atmosphere Glee Choir and JME Dance Group.

Nottingham Celebrates £45m Lottery Award for SSBC Programme

MILLIONS of pounds of lottery money is to be awarded to Nottingham over the next 10 years to improve the lives of the city’s babies and toddlers. Nottingham’s bid for £45m from the Big Lottery Fund as part of its A Better Startprogramme began in 2013, with partner organisations including Nottingham CityCare Partnership (CityCare), Nottingham City Council and Nottingham CVS coming together to create a vision for bettering the life experiences of the city’s nought to three-year-olds.

Self-referral service is simply effective

Patients have used a new service more than 12,000 times to receive health care at home. Nottingham CityCare Partnership’s self-referral service allows people who are housebound to call a phone line and either be directed to the services they need or have staff sent to them.

4,000 helped by Juggle diabetes service

MORE than 4,000 people have been helped by a diabetes education and advice service since it was launched. Homeless Health team support Patient on road to recovery

1 April 2014

AN ex-heroin addict who almost died due to a severely infected leg ulcer has thanked a homeless health team for getting his life back on track. Fran Morris became addicted to heroin in his late teens after using softer drugs from the age of 15 and by his mid 20s he had lost all hope of leading a healthy, normal life.

Scarlet fever: Walk-in centre reports rise in potential cases

Suspected cases of scarlet fever have increased at one of Nottingham’s walk-in centres. Nottingham CityCare Partnership, which runs the NHS walk-in centre off London Road, has seen eight potential cases so far in March, and 17 in February.

Falls Rapid Response Team shortlisted for The BMJ Awards 2014

The Falls Rapid Response Team delivered by CityCare in Partnership with EMAS has been shortlisted in the Emergency Medicine Team category at The BMJ Awards 2014. 6,300 girls vaccinated against virus that can lead to cancer

MORE than 6,000 young girls have been vaccinated against a potentially fatal virus since the introduction of an immunisation programme. The programme against Human Papilloma Virus was launched in 2008 – and 6,318 girls have now been protected in the city.

City hosts innovative trial of heart failure therapy

LIFE-CHANGING treatment for heart failure patients has been successfully piloted in Nottingham. Nottingham CityCare Partnership’s Primary Care Cardiac Service was awarded money from the British Heart Foundation to run an innovative new project to deliver therapy to patients at home.
