On the second week of Black History Month, our next inspirational person has been selected by Janet Ansah, Registered Nurse (Nursing & Midwifery). Janet has chosen Dorette Allen, a Family Nurse within the Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) team, who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Dorette’s career with City Health Visiting began in September 2004, as a Student Health Visitor. She joined the Snienton Health Visiting Team the following year and in 2010, Dorette joined CityCare’s FNP team as a Family Nurse. She worked in this role for over 10 years, supporting many of the cities vulnerable young parents.

Dorette was highly regarded throughout CityCare for her warmth, positivity and vibrant personality. She was a dedicated, forward-thinking compassionate nurse and colleague, whose radiance uplifted and inspired those around her.

Dorette is sorely missed within CityCare, but her legacy lives on in those whose lives she touched.

Janet has shared why she is inspired by Dorette Allen here.
