The SSBC team are thrilled to share the news that the Family Mentor Service won the Social Value Award at the first Nottingham Integrated Care System (ICS) Health and Care Awards on 24 October 2023, hosted by Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System and Nottinghamshire Lieutenancy.  The awards recognised the work of individuals and organisations from across the health, care and voluntary sectors.

The Social Value Award highlighted services which demonstrated social value by delivering sustainable health and care services, supporting communities with issues such as the rising cost of living or by improving employment opportunities.

The Nottingham Health and Care Awards' judges said “Knowing the struggles many families face today, this approach is making a meaningful difference and embodies the essence of the category.”

Winning this award comes on the back of the Family Mentor Service being awarded additional funding through a successful bid to the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System’s Health Inequalities and Innovation Investment Fund.  This will allow them to extend their service and offer a targeted one-year Family Mentor offer to an additional 200 families from across areas of Nottingham not currently covered by the SSBC programme.  For more information on what this means for the service, visit our website or contact them at ncp.ss.bc@nhs.net.
