Nottingham CityCare staff attended the 'Get Into Apprenticeships' event at Bluecoat Trent Academy on Tuesday 15 July, engaging with a group of Year 10 students.

Emma Cross, Zoe Lees, and Tyla Walker, all of whom are completing apprenticeships, shared their career journeys and experiences with apprenticeships. The students participated in hands-on activities, such as examining x-rays to identify broken bones, taking vital signs like temperature and pulse, practicing CPR, and learning about body parts and their locations.

The students were asked two questions before and after the event to measure their understanding and interest in applying for an apprenticeship

  • What is your understanding of an apprenticeship?
  • What is your interest in applying for an apprenticeship?

As a result of the event, the students’ understanding of an apprenticeship rose by a massive 158%Their interest in applying for an apprenticeship by 133%

Comments from the students included;

  • "About things that can help my future "

Many also commented about the desire to work for Nottingham CityCare when they leave school.
